Continuing with the quarterly donations, we're announcing our next donation for the 3rd quarter of 2021 - consisting of all sales from the website, wholesale orders, and live event for months of July, August and September. While we are late to donate, Thanksgiving seems like a fitting day to make/announce this next donation.
Because of our customers, we're able to continue giving back to the environment. We are so thankful for each and every one of you for helping to make this donation the biggest one to date. We've been able to say that three consecutive times now! And, we can already tell you that our next donation in January will be even larger than this one. However, today's donation totals $394 - almost double what we donated the previous quarter!
For this donation we chose Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), which was founded in 1970 by law students and attorneys at the front of the growing environmental movement. Today, the leadership and board of trustees continue the work alongside more than three million members, roughly 700 scientists, lawyers and policy advocates from across the globe, to ensure the rights of all people to clean air and water, and healthy communities.
As mentioned on their website, they work to, "safeguard the earth—its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends."
For the past fifty years, NRDC has been partnering with businesses, elected officials and community groups to tackle some of the biggest issues facing the planet today. NRDC's staff works in more than a dozen program areas including climate change, communities, energy, food, health, oceans, water and the wild. You can learn more about their work, here.
The website details how they use science and data to bring change about the world, "NRDC experts use data and science to unearth the root causes of the problems that confront us. We use that information to blueprint transformative solutions, and we mobilize the support of partners, members, and activists to advocate for laws and policies that will protect our environment far into the future."
With your help, we're able to help them continue their important work on the frontlines of courtroom battles and hard-hitting campaigns in defense of our climate, health, wildlife, and wild places, and to protect people, vulnerable communities, and the planet. Thank you for supporting us, and helping to support NRDC this quarter!
